"What are you doing?"  "I'm studying English" (en este momento, ahora=presente continuo).

"What were you doing at 8 o'clock yesterday morning?" "I was studying English" (en aquel momento, entonces=pasado continuo)

Presente continuo  am/is/are +Sujeto+verbo+ing Pasado continuo de nuevo, cambiamos am/is/are por was/were

 am/is-->was                   are-->were

Notas:

Verbo monosílabo o acaba en sílaba acentuada: Consonante+vocal+consonante

put-->putting  swim-->swimming

Verbos que acaban en -e, ésta desaparece.

 

love-->loving    hate-->hating

Algunos verbos que acaban en -ie: -ie-->y

lie-->lying       die-->dying

 






Los pronombres interrogativos (when, what time, how much, why, what...) siempre vienen al principio de la pregunta y las preposiciones al final.
